Skin Homograft in a Burnad Patient



Abstract
A five year old girl burned 30 percent of her body had second and third degree burn with boiling
sater and flame in her lower abdomen, both thighs right shoulder and right ear on September 8,
1968. She was admitted to the Seoul National University Hospital, and intensive general and local
cares were done, but her general condition had become worse with 39 degrees C high fever and severe
local pseudomonas infection. On the 6th week after her admission, skin homograft was taken from her
father who has o blood type, but the patient has B blood type.
On the day of postoperative 1 week, rejection signs developed clinically and on the day of postoper
ative 2 weeks the homograft was completely rejected. But her general condition began to be better
from the second postoperative day, and after removal of rejected skin two times of autograft made her
complete recovery.
